Barwon & beyond, 2012

Barwon & beyond is intended to share our enthusiasm and interest for two parts of the world; Australia, and Provence in France. We live at Barwon Heads in Victoria, Australia. Feel free to email us with any queries.

Canal du Midi—new trip diary, September 2011!
We are very enthusiastic about this World Heritage masterpiece. We’ve been there for two barge trips, and we highly recommend the canal for a restful tour through wonderful landscapes.

In the Provence pages (although the canal is not really in Provence) you’ll find two trip diaries to read, with tips for routes to follow and villages and restaurants to enjoy.

Read more about the canal...

Australia & Barwon Heads
Our wider interests in outdoor Australia are covered in
pages discussing:

•    bushwalking — hiking  in Victoria, NSW and Tasmania;

•    historic mountain huts;

•    rock climbing at Arapiles and Killiecrankie; and

•    ski touring.

Time and tide — Steve’s Barwon Heads blog...

The Time and tide pages are blog pages from monthly opinion columns written for our village magazine, ‘Talking Heads’.
